An Indian Pungi is a folk music instrument traditionally used by an indian snake charmer to hypnotise the cobra and make them move with the rythm of the instrument. The pungi made of dried Bottle gourd with two holes. The top part is attached to an wooden decorative flute and the bottom part is attached to two tightly fitted flutes , each has seven and two holes respectively to adjust the tone.
Indian Pungi also known as "Been" and "Shenai" the most commonly used musical instrument in India is an improvised version of the Pungi.
